Tatiana
Mavrina ( 1900-1996) is famous as a book-illustrator; she illustrated
mainly russian folk fairytales. In the years of the Great Patriotic
War she draw posters and calenders. Few knows of her creative
activity as a painter. The exhibition in the museum “Bourganov
house” is dedicated to this very field of her creativity. Her
early paintings are influeced by the works of such artists as
Renoir, and Matisse. As Tatiana puts it herself, the impressionists
revealed her the realm of ideal harmony in the every-day life.
The displayed in the exposition works belong to the period from
1938 to 1941. Her last painting Tatiana creayed in 1942.
